Our world is in trouble.

It needs our help.

Climate change is ravaging our world.

All of the Earth's weather is driven by heat.

As the sun heats the earth, hot air rises and cold air descends.  From that simple equation comes all of our weather.

Today, the Earth is warming.  Increased heat will mean more storms.  More violent storms.  More unpredictable weather.

The only solution is to attack the forces that are causing our world to heat up.

Our global food supply is threatened.

Increasing heat is creating havoc with some of the most fertile regions on Earth.

We have taken for granted our ability to feed an increasingly large global population.

Climate change threatens that.  Entire food-producing regions are now threatened or simply unable to produce the food they have historically produced.

Some common foods may disappear entirely because the habitat where they grow has disappeared under the weight of climate change.

What kind of world will our grandchildren inherit?

Each generation has strived to give their children a better life than the one they had.

Today, that is upside-down:  will we bequeath an unhealthy Earth to our children?  Will they leave their children a planet that is increasingly unfit for human habitation?

While these questions were once unthinkable, today they are real and realistic -- and we need answers.

You can help.  We all can help.

  • Become informed.
Knowledge is the great equalizer.  The more we know, the more we can make wise choices for us, our children and our world.
  • Select sources carefully.
We have all heard the phrase "fake news" too often in recent years but, unfortunately, there is a lot of bad information made available through the Internet and elsewhere.
  • Follow the money.
When reading a report, listening to the news or checking an app on your phone, consider the source.  Is it a politician who wants your financial support?  Is it a large company who wants you to buy their products or the government to give them yet another tax break?  Is it a wealthy individual whose main interest is in becoming even richer -- potentially at your expense?  Ask yourself why any of these people would have any incentive to tell you the real truth.
  • Read different opinions.
Too many people read only the news they agree with.  Reach out and listen to other opinions.  No one has a lock on the truth.  By listening to multiple opinions, you will be more able to identify what's real and what's coming from someone who just wants you to do something for them.
  • Care.
Most of all, care.  Care about your own life and the lives of your family and friends.  Care about the lives of those people who are yet to be born.  Care about people who are truly in need.  Care about the truth and the future of our world and the people who will be living in it in the future.
